Chainsaw Audio Music Lands Hit Show on US Network

Music composed by Chainsaw Europe was selected by music producers of the hit summer show So, You Think You Can Dance?, which aired last night, June 13th, on the Fox Television network.

So, You Think You Can Dance? is one of the top 10 summer shows produced by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe, who also produce the most successful network show in the last 20 years on US television, American Idol. SYTYCD has won nine Emmys and targets the much sought after 18-45 age group.

“I am very happy that the US television market respects work coming from our composers,” said John M. Florescu, CEO of Centrade USA, and founder of Chainsaw Europe.

The segment, composed by Chainsaw Audio musical director Marius Lefterache, was used to score a segment shot in Salt Lake City in which the narrator explains how the competition is played. The actual piece called “Melting,” is an electro style composition and airs in the first three minutes of the hit show.

Marius has also written music for Rusty Steel, an English-language Romanian feature set to be released this fall, and Monies, Cons and Bones, a feature length comedy by Cristian Comeaga released last year. He has also written for scores of commercials for such multinationals as Mercedes, Sony and P&G.

“It’s a personal honor and a great chance for our team to be recognized at the highest reaches of American television,” said Marius. “Network television in the US is a tough business, and producers receive music from thousands of great artists from all over the world. We hope it’s a start of a great long term collaboration with Chainsaw Audio.”

Marius Leftarache is one of a dozen core composers gathered by Chainsaw Audio from Romania, England, US, Germany and Turkey with the purpose of writing original and library music for television, movies and advertising.

Currently on the slate of Chainsaw Audio upcoming projects are films from Romanian producers Cristian Comeaga, Ion Ionescu and a 3-D project under discussion.
