Actor Marcel Iures and musician CRBL, involved in a social campaign for OvidiuRo
The OvidiuRo Association, whose mission is to raise awareness and support for social issues in Romania, has launched a fund raising campaign this month with actor Marcel Iures and artist CRBL joining forces to promote it. Appealing to a mass audience, their message is to donate two euros by text is being broadcast on more than twenty TV channels, on radio, in all newspapers and also online. It is a mission to encourage children from poor communities and families to attend kindergarten.
The public awareness campaign was born after poor results from corporate donations. “It is the first time that the future of our program is depending on individual contributions. We need funds in order to keep all 1400 children in kindergarten,” says Leslie Hawke (co-founder, OvidiuRo). By raising awareness on this important issue, the association can add the 75,000 euros needed to complete the funding necessary to keep the Every Child in Kindergarten program running.
The association believes that the collaboration between Iures and CRBL demonstrates that two different worlds can be brought together for the special cause of educating the less fortunate. Marcel Iures and CRBL have both previously been involved in other educational campaigns.
